Today, I checked out Capital Gardens at Alexander Palace for the very first time. They’ve got a fantastic variety of indoor plants, and the team there was super nice and accommodating. Plus, there’s a café where the staff were just as friendly and eager to help. I enjoyed a cappuccino and a carrot cake that was absolutely delicious! I’m really impressed with this place and can’t wait to bring my friends next time for some shopping and coffee :)

What’s going on with this charming garden center café!! The new crew in the restaurant appears to be completely out of sorts, no big cups around, and we didn’t get the correct milk either. Plus, the service was really sluggish. The menu has been cut back because of staff shortages, which is a bummer. I used to really enjoy this café, but I reckon we’ll be searching for other options moving forward.

We had a wonderful time during our visit today. The center is stunning, and the food was not only tasty but also artfully arranged. The COVID guidelines were well implemented and followed. Toby took care of us, and his meticulousness, courtesy, warmth, and generosity truly reflected well on the restaurant. Thanks for a delightful experience!

During a lunch break at Capital Gardens, I stumbled upon a stunning lollipop ‘tree’ that stands over 8 feet tall. There was no way it was fitting in my car 😂. The team was super helpful and went above and beyond. They offered excellent advice, assisted me in picking out a new pot, delivered my tree, and even repotted it! Truly a fantastic and friendly service. Plus, the value was really good!

Had a blast at the Wandsworth Garden Centre (Neals Nurseries) - we enjoyed it so much that we ended up shopping there for 2 and a half hours. We even hung around for over half an hour waiting for someone to help us pick out a barbeque. In total, we dropped just under £600 with them. And what do we get in return? A £100 parking ticket for being in their lot for more than 90 minutes. It's just absurd. This would definitely keep me from returning to what was otherwise an awesome garden center or any of their other locations.

The Studley Green Garden centre has never really stood out compared to other local spots, so I was hopeful when Capital took over, thinking they might bring some fresh ideas and investment. Fast forward about a year, and it seems to have gotten worse—limited selection, confusing signs, and prices that are on the high side. I can either rummage through a jumbled display by the entrance to find a single type of pyracantha or just hop online to discover a bunch of options at a better price (though I do have to factor in shipping). Honestly, even before Covid, I can't see why anyone would choose to shop here unless, like with the pyracantha, I needed something right away as a present.

Once again, the wonderful Carol and her crew have put together a fantastic holiday section. Every year, it’s carefully arranged with a wide variety of ornaments, candles, and other goodies. It's always a blast to check it out.

I got some lovely assorted plants. They were a tad pricey, but not too outrageous. Unfortunately, I ended up with two plants—one didn’t make it, and the other was damaged when I tried to plant it. They covered up the broken one with a basket, and it definitely wasn’t cheap. Plus, there was no planting guidance for some of the plants. I won’t be purchasing any more from this place.

Charming nursery, ruined by the group of sharks that go after you for overstaying your time in the parking lot by 10 minutes. Civil Enforcement has been hounding my husband for over a year. He wasn’t even behind the wheel; he suffers from severe dementia, and I had forked out £165... never again.

Awesome day picking up a hanging egg chair for my garden. I was really impressed with how friendly and helpful each staff member was. Plus, they went the extra mile to assist in loading the garden furniture into my car without me even having to ask. It was such a chill and easy experience. Thanks a bunch!

I swung by the Sherfield on Loddon Golf Club for a little look around and to grab a coffee. Spotted Bubble & Squeak on the menu and thought, why not? I missed it during Christmas, and boy, am I glad I tried it! It was so tasty, creamy in the center, and nice and crispy on the outside, topped with some perfectly crunchy smoked bacon and a fried egg (can’t forget that well-drizzled brown sauce). The portion was a solid deal for what you get, and I’ll definitely be back for another round. Can’t wait to see what else Chef Tracey whips up next... maybe 'Toad in the Hole'? The staff were super friendly, helpful, and polite, even though they were quite busy. Highly recommend!

I visited the garden centre cafe for lunch on Monday, December 23, 2019, around 1 PM. The food was top-notch, and the young male waiter was both friendly and professional. However, I was quite let down by the service at the till. It was a quiet time, and there were two young ladies with dark hair working, but they seemed more focused on their own conversation than on helping customers. One of them called the other Harriet. There was a lady in front of me waiting to pay, and those two just kept chatting, leaving her hanging. I noticed there were no knives available, so I asked one of the girls to fetch me one. She brought out the knives but just dropped them in the cutlery holder without handing me one. While I was eating, I saw a couple return their dirty plates and cutlery to the till area, and those two girls didn’t even acknowledge them. It was disappointing to see such a lack of customer service from Harriet and her colleague, especially since every other staff member seemed busy and attentive. The garden centre itself is fantastic and well-stocked.

I got hit with a £293 fine for parking at Neals Nurseries. I showed them my proof of purchase and even called the Nursery, but they told me it was my fault because of the signs. I thought maybe it was just a mix-up, so I sent my proof of purchase three times to Capital's head office. The rudeness I encountered on the phone really put a damper on our visit. I was treating my friend after her hospital stay, so we took our time strolling around. I can't wrap my head around this situation. My calls have gone unanswered, and they’ve ignored my written proof. I did get a message online offering £100 in vouchers, but those never showed up. It's such a bummer because this whole mess could've been avoided from the get-go.

Today, I popped into the Sherfield on Loddon nursery and was thrilled to find a beautiful Cercis Forest Pansy. I've been on the hunt for this tree for quite a while. The team was super helpful, and Philip even brought it to me the very same day. Top-notch service and a great selection of healthy plants. I’ll surely return!

Classic customer care! I was looking for a specific lawn mower model, and instead of just saying 'Nope, can't help,' Colin went the extra mile and called around until he tracked one down for me, even sharing their phone number. I'll surely be back for more!
